Agencies will invariably take a commission for work done and help provided. This can be a fixed amount or rolling scale depending on what price the property fetched on sale. This is negotiable and can be dependent on how much the property sold for if one would like to reward the agent for his or her efforts.

Then there does exist the choice in going it alone and getting the job done without the use of an agency. Many sites on the Internet have sprung up over the years where sellers can do just this. This does come with a fee though but may outway the costs of having to pay a real estate broker higher commission rates.

It is all a matter of choice and there will ultimately be differing opinions as to which way is best. Allow for time in preparing and understanding what is required. It may just mean the difference between a mediocre sale and a great one.
